2x12 New Years Eve Edition (December 31, 2010)


In his fifth annual New Year's Eve special, comedian Ron James offers his unique comedic take on Canada's ever-changing seasons. Joining James to celebrate are special guests Grammy & Juno winner Ed Robertson from Barenaked Ladies, Canadian rock legend Kim Mitchell and Kid in the Hall Scott Thompson. In special New Year's sketches, Aunt Vivien turns the tables and skypes a New Year's Message to Her Royal Highness; a man loses his cool over constantly being asked for holiday donations; Buddy the Newfie Vampire receives a visit from the temptress who "turned him" 118 years earlier; and The Mayor puts his foot in it again while delivering his New Year's message. Larry Garibaldi fantasizes about getting his revenge on a bigoted shopper who thinks that all the "foreigners" should be sent back home and Lil Ronnie finds an unusual way to spell out a special holiday message for his family.

Canada's favourite comedian talks about the pros and cons of travel; tries to convince his wife of the benefits of house swapping, even with an unexpected guest; and asks a friend for help rather than face the consequences of telling the truth to a new girlfriend. Larry Garibaldi teaches some politicians a lesson on the environment and Lil Ronnie realizes that it just doesn't pay to cheat, no matter how much you want something. And in his latest Ode to the Road, Ron pays tribute to his second home, Toronto, and tries to convince the rest of the country to give The Big Smoke a chance

Canada's favourite comic talks Men & Women, accepts the consequences of settling for less, and has trouble helping his wife pick out new knobs. Meanwhile L'il Ronnie saves up to buy Sea Monkeys; Larry Garibaldi puts some parliamentarians in their place; and Ron pays tribute to Peterborough in his latest Ode to the Road.

Comedian Ron James gives his take on history and tolerance. A musical sketch takes a look at what might have happened had glee clubs been the rage in Nazi Germany, The Mayor is feeling disoriented and gets himself into trouble again; L'il Ronnie takes a camping trip with the family; and Larry Garibaldi fantasizes about getting revenge on corporate fat cats. All this plus Ron's Ode to the rocky jewel of the great big sea, St. John's Newfoundland.
